Frances Byers Wilkie, age 75

Frances Byers Wilkie, age 75, of Ellenboro, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015.

Born July 21, 1940 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Raleigh Byers and Etheleen Bradley Byers. She was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1958. Frances worked in the textile industry for over twenty-five years, having worked for the Cliffside and Caroleen Mills. Frances was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed craftwork and travelling with her husband to car shows and racing events.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Monnie H. Wilkie; an infant son and one brother, Gene Byers.

Survivors include two brothers, Bruce Byers and Joe Byers both of Forest City; two sisters, Betty Byers of Forest City and Joyce McCurry and husband, Hobert of Simpsonville, SC.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Teresa McCurry officiating. Interment followed in the Cliffside Cemetery.
