Frances Hamrick Toney, age 82

Frances Hamrick Toney, age 82, of Landrum, SC, passed away, Thursday, February 14, 2019.

A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Hamrick and Wilma Bridges Hamrick Frances worked for many years at the lunch counter at Smith's Drug Store where she is widely remembered. In her retirement she worked with Mayo Auto Auction.

She was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and was a graduate of Cool Springs High School. Her husband Wade Toney, a son, Danny Toney, a daughter, Terry Johnson, and her great-granddaughter, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Randy Toney of Forest City, a daughter, Karen T. Hyder and her husband Phillip of Landrum, SC, and a brother, Deven W. "Pete" Hamrick of Spartanburg, SC, her nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
