Frank Pleasant, age 79

Frank Pleasant, age 79, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019.

Frank was born December 7, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late Loyd Franklin Pleasant, Sr. and Pearl Edith Owens Pleasant. Frank served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for PPG Industries, Cone Mill and Broyhill for many years. Frank was a member of Harmon Street Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and playing softball and baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Garcia; son, Loyd Franklin Pleasant III; a granddaughter, and one sister, Patricia McNaughton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of twenty-six years, Mary Louise Pleasant; two daughters, Angie Linder (Kenneth) of Shiloh and Frankie Hope Gettys (Jerry) of Caroleen; brother, Roger Pleasant (Lavonda) of Forest City; two step-daughters, Rhonda Renee Duncan of Rutherfordton, Sherry Lynn Ferguson (Scott) of Caroleen and step-son, Steve Duncan of Caroleen, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Eternal Hills Memorial Park with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
