Franklin Brown "Frank" Coker, age 87

Franklin Brown "Frank" Coker, age 87, of Bostic passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015.

A native of Rome, GA, he was a son of the late Thomas and Bertha Carter Coker.  He worked for Fieldcrest /Cannon for many years and retired from Snyder Mills. After his retirement he worked with his wife at her flower shop, Water's Florist, and was an avid collector knives which Frank sold and traded at area flea markets.

Frank was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bostic, where he had served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and on various committees.  He was also a charter member of the Becthler Mint Knife Club and member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Coker, James "Bud" Coker, three sisters, Mary Edna Melton, Jessie Webb, and Frances Dotson.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy "Dot" Coker of the home, a son, Eddie Coker and his wife Teresa of Bostic, a daughter, Madge Moody and her husband Kevin of Bostic, a sister, Grace Coker of Lancaster, NC, two grandchildren, Jason Coker and his wife Crystal, Emily Padgett and her husband Josh, step grandchildren, Sharon Martin and Nathan Marlowe. There are seven great grandchildren, Chloe, Clare, Colton, and Cagney Coker, Garrett, Clayton, and Dawson Padgett, one step great -grandchild, Amber Martin, and one step great- great grandchild, Jordan Kimbrell.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Bostic, with the Reverend Clay Earle, Reverend Sam Henderson, and Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment followed in the Glenwood Baptist Church cemetery.
