Franklin “Everett” Wilson, age 85

Franklin “Everett” Wilson, age 85, of Bostic and formerly of Cliffside, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014. 

Born January 11, 1929 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late W. Barto Wilson & Maggie Lee White Wilson. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army.  Everett worked for Greyhound Bus Lines, Western Petroleum & Stonecutter Mill as a diesel mechanic for many years before retirement, but his life’s calling was training horses, which he did for over 30 years.  He was a member of Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church for sixty-years and was always known for his passion for horses, loving his grandchildren and his keen sense of humor. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Don, W.B. & Harold Wilson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Fannie H. Wilson; 2 daughters, Becky Jolley & husband, Eddie of Forest City & Joyce Mahaffee & husband, Jim of Gastonia; 2 grandchildren, Brian McQueen & wife, Mandy & Theresa Soppelsa & husband, Michael; 2 great-grandchildren, Amelia Soppelsa & Cadence Raby.  He is survived by a brother, Winfred Wilson & wife, Jayne of Rutherfordton; 2 sister-in-laws, Faye Wilson of Spindale & Genevia Wilson of Forest City.   

A memorial service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Terry White officiating. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC  28043.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
