Freddie M. Arrowood

Freddie M. Arrowood went to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 28, 2015.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Charlie B. Arrowood and Muriel Robbins Arrowood. Also preceding him in death were his siblings, Harold Arrowood and Dr. Eris Dedmon.

Fred cherished his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Daniel Arrowood; children Shay Arrowood Guffey and her husband Larry and Shawn Arrowood Parker; and the lights of his life, his 5 grandchildren. Also surviving Mr. Arrowood are his sister-in-law Dr. Lucille Hampton Daniel, as well as special nephews, nieces, aunts, and cousins. Mr. Arrowood also leaves behind very special friends and coffee buddies.

Mr. Arrowood was passionate about public education and sought to be a positive role model every day. He devoted over 34 years to Rutherford County Schools, and his influences are innumerable. He didn't go anywhere without seeing a former colleague, teacher, or student, recalling each one by name and a fond memory.

Graveside services were held at Eternal Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Rutherford County Schools Education Foundation 382 West Main Street Forest City NC 28043 Attention: Kevin Bradley.
