Fun Things To Enjoy In Rutherford County!

Summer is here and kids are out of school. It’s that time of year for funtime! There is no place better than Rutherford County to have a great summer. How lucky we are. While other areas have to travel some distance and try to figure out where to go and what to do, we have it all here in Rutherford County, possibly “the world’s best play ground!”.

Just stop and think about it! Great baseball with the Forest City Owls, beaches at Lake Lure, fantastic shopping at Chimney Rock, mountain climbing, fishing, corn hole fun, camping, boating, golfing, hiking trails, Broad River paddle trails where you can  “ride the river”, tennis courts, plenty of basketball, and outdoor activities to please everybody. Let us not forget the races, biking, climbing, disc golf, and the equestrian activities, the Lake Lure Olympiad and those special places where movies were made. We also have swimming pools, lakes, etc. The list is endless. In addition, we have the parks in Cliffside and Caroleen and new Bechtler mint site. Let us not forget about the concerts and sounds of bluegrass throughout the year. How about the tremendous offerings at Isothermal Community College’s Foundation Theatre? 

Whether it’s all about a lot of American history or a panorama of all the good things nature offers, you will find it in Rutherford County, North Carolina. We also have an airport where you can take flying lessons and where people fly in often to enjoy the pleasures of Rutherford County. There is so much to do and when you stop to think about it, it’s almost overwhelming. The many entertainment and pleasures offered right here at home in a county that has so much to offer. The best thing about all these availabilities is that there is no cost, most of it is free for the taking.    

Maybe we are spoiled. Visitors to Rutherford County are often taken back at the many great recreational facilities we have. Most are jealous. 

So as you get ready to enjoy the summer, be thankful that we have it all right here. Stop. Think. How lucky we are to live and play in Rutherford County, North Carolina. We truly are very fortunate!
