G.C. Deyton, Jr., age 80

G.C. Deyton, Jr., age 80, of Caroleen, NC and a resident at White Oak Manor passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012.

G.C. was born December 29, 1931 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Grover Clinton Deyton, Sr. and Ina Halford Deyton.  He worked in textiles for 50 years before his retirement and was a Baptist.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock and gem hunting and was an avid reader. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Left to cherish his memory are two brothers, Lester Deyton and wife, Catheryn of Mooresboro, Harry Deyton and wife, Kay of Gilkey and a host of nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Alan Marsh and Reverend Harold Johnson officiating.  Interment followed in High Shoal Baptist Church Cemetery.      In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC  28043.
