Gary Lee Buchanan, age 58

Gary Lee Buchanan, age 58, of Marion, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017.

Born October 30, 1958 in Spruce Pine, he was a son to the late Brown Lee Buchanan and Nancy Ray New Buchanan. He was a graduate of McDowell High School, class of 1977 and attended McDowell Technical College. Gary was a welder for Buck's Stove Manufacturing, worked for a mobile home transport company and also for Baxter Manufacturing in North Cove, NC. He was a dedicated Christian and Free Will Baptist. He enjoyed ministering to others through his God-given musical abilities.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Robin Buchanan and a sister, Lisa McKinney.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Kimberly Tapia of Forest City; brother, Marvin Buchanan of Marion and one granddaughter. He is also survived by special friends, Timothy Holloway of Marion, Ginger Mulhall, Bruce Heath and Stephen McIntyre all of Forest City.

At the request of the family there will be no formal services conducted.
