Gary Sailors, age 57

Gary Sailors, age 57, of Ellenboro, NC, passed away April 2014.

Born November 20, 1956 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late John E. Sailors, Jr. and Mary Putman Hodge who resides with her husband, Ken in Caroleen.

Gary worked as an industrial painter and worked for OMC Industries for many years. He loved music and played the drums for several local churches. He was a member of Sisk Memorial Missionary Methodist Church. Gary was also known for his witty sense of humor.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughter, Holly Sailors Scoggins and husband, Justin of Winter Haven, Florida and sister, Teresa Reynolds and husband, Jimmy of Forest City.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4pm on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel.  Inurnment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial donations are suggested to the charity of choice.
