George Clayton Huntsinger, 83

George Clayton Huntsinger, 83 of Forest City passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2015.

Born in Rutherford County, NC, he was the son of the late R.L. Huntsinger and Carrie Henson Huntsinger. He was a musician having played the mandolin and guitar with the Huntsinger Brothers Band, worked at Marion Manufacturing and Stonecutter Mills prior to his retirement, and was a lifelong member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James Huntsinger, Claude Huntsinger, Clark "Bud" Huntsinger and Melvin Huntsinger, and two sisters, Gladys Huntsinger and Agnes Huntsinger.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-nine years, J. Fern Head Huntsinger, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Interment followed in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
