George "Reid" Parker, age 75

George "Reid" Parker, age 75, of Mooresboro, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019.

Reid was born April 20, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late George W. Parker and Edna Crawford Parker. He worked at Cone Mills for thirteen years and as a truck mechanic for seventeen years. He enjoyed fixing and restoring old cars, but his life's passion was preaching God's Word and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Bradley, Birdie Mae Rhodes, Viola Sisk and two brothers, Roy Parker and Spencer Parker.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-six years, Barbara Tesenair Parker; two daughters, Susie Parker of Ellenboro and Angel Parker Long (Jackie) of Bostic; son, Bucky Parker (Michelle) of Mooresboro; two sisters, Madge Jones of Green Hill and Louise McIntyre of Spindale. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
