George W. Hamrick, age 79

George W. Hamrick, age 79 of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016.

He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Lonnie Beryman Hamrick and Annie Belle Morrow Hamrick. George was a U.S. Army Veteran of the 82nd Airborne and a member of Gray's Creek Baptist Church. He was retired form Stonecutter Mills with 46 years of service. He was preceded in death by one brother Paul Hamrick and one sister Martha Hamrick Boone.

He is survived by his wife; Barbara Hamrick. Two Daughters: Cheryl Wilson, Deborah Gowan and husband Rickey. Two Sons: Randy Hamrick and wife Donna, Shannon Hamrick and wife Alicia. Two Sisters: Opal Thompson, Irene Thomas and husband Larry. Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at Gray's Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Ezell,

Rev. Alvin Allen and Rev. John Godfrey officiating. Interment held at Grays Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Gray's Creek Baptist Church; 751 Gray's Creek Road; Rutherfordton NC 28139.
