George William Melton, Sr. "Dub", age 79

George William Melton, Sr. "Dub", age 79 formerly of Rutherfordton, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019.

A native of Rutherford County he is the son of Everette Say Melton and Genie Murray Melton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Earl Melton, and two sisters, Grace Norville and Martha Toney. Mr. Melton retired in 1986 from Spindale Mills where he worked as a supervisor in the weave room and was known to his co-workers as "Slim"

He is survived by his wife, Angelyn Flynn Melton; two sons, George William Melton, Jr. and his wife Bobbi, Perry Say Melton and his wife Betsy; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren, one sister Wilma Robertson and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Adaville Baptist Church with a private burial at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Adaville Baptist Church.
