Gerald C. "Gomer" Huber, age 69

Gerald C. "Gomer" Huber, age 69, of Ellenboro, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016.

Born September 30, 1946 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Carl Huber and Delores Smalley Huber. He was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1965 and a past member of Race Path Baptist Church. Gerald worked for PPG Industries for forty-three years before retirement. He was an avid fisherman, shagger, coon hunter and enjoyed getting good deals at the flea market.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Myrtle Carter Huber; second wife, Joyce Bridges Huber and step-daughter, Denise Moss Mull.

Survivors include three sons, Chuck McSwain of Mooresboro, Jeff Huber and wife, Miranda Gregory and Danny Huber all of Ellenboro; one sister, Geraldine Hodge and husband, Hoyt of Ellenboro and brother, Robert Huber and wife, Lynne of Hendersonville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Phillip Park and Reverend Albert Hillman officiating. Interment followed in Race Path Baptist Church Cemetery.
