Geretha Hoyle Davis, age 79

Geretha Hoyle Davis, age 79, of Forest City, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.

Born January 4, 1937 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Chivous Lee Hoyle and Bessie Toms Hoyle. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School, class of 1954 and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She worked for J.C. Cowan Plant and for the PATH Shelter for several years. Her life's joy was taking care of her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and singing gospel songs. Geretha leaves behind the legacy of being a great Christian example for all to see. She truly lived out her faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Charlie Wade Davis; one son, Terry Davis and brother, Elvis Hoyle.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Hill and husband, Danny of Forest City; son, Myron Davis and wife, Anna of Granite Falls, NC; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

In accordance to Geretha's request, a private graveside service was conducted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 or to a favorite charity in memory of Geretha.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
