Gertrude Aldrich Silver, age 93

Gertrude Aldrich Silver, age 93, of Cliffside, NC, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at.

Born August 6, 1922 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Grover Womack and Mary Silver Womack. She was a graduate of Cliffside High School, class of 1939 and worked at the Cliffside Mill for forty-one years before retirement. She was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Aldrich and second husband, Lloyd Silver; three brothers, Jesse, Horace and John Womack; two sisters, Lois McKinney and Ola Pearson.

Survivors include two sons, John Lindsey Aldrich and wife, Pam of Chesapeake, Virginia and Jessie Lewis Aldrich and wife, Tammy of Chesnee, SC; one sister, Nell Webb of Cliffside. She is also survived by three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Larry Fleming officiating. Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
