Due to projected inclement weather from Hurricane Florence, Grandfather Mountain has rescheduled its 48th annual Girl Scout Day. Originally slated for Saturday, Sept. 15, the special event has been moved to Saturday, Sept. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Girl Scout Day is a special day on Grandfather Mountain, tailored to pique the interest of Girl Scouts by inspiring love and enthusiasm for the natural world!

On Sept. 22, the mountain will host nature programs, arts, crafts and a guest speaker to provide plenty of activities for scouts of ages. There will be an opportunity for Girl Scouts to complete a service project that can go toward obtaining a badge, along with a Girl Scout Troop Challenge that will include a chance to win a prize. This year's theme is birds!

Girl Scouts in uniform and their troop leaders get free admission to the park for the day. For more information, call 800-468-7325, or email naturalists@grandfather.com.
