Gloria Jacquelyn Hess Condrey of Union Mills, passed away on December 29, 2018.
She would have been 93 on January 9. Gloria Jacquelyn was known by many as "Gloria" and by many others as "Jackie." Gloria Jacquelyn was born January 9, 1926 in Charlotte. Gloria Jacquelyn worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) most of her adult life and was particularly fond of those years she worked in OBGYN at Rutherford Hospital.
Gloria Jacquelyn is preceded in death by her parents, George Beckwith Hess and Maybelle (Mabel) Aubrey Harmon Hess of Charlotte; her husband, Joseph Bruce Condrey of Union Mills; sisters Carolyn Jane Hess Krouse and husband, Roy, of Crossville, TN and an identical twin, Constance (Connie) Marilyn Hess Tippin and husband, Gene, of Melbourne, FL; and a granddaughter of Shelby.
Gloria Jacquelyn is survived by three children: Joseph Walter Condrey and his wife, Carolyn, of Rutherfordton; Susan Carol Radford and her husband, Chuck, of Union Mills; and Bruce Wayne Condrey and his wife, Rickie Lea, of Sparta, TN. Gloria Jacquelyn is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and 3 great-great-great grandchildren.
Gloria Jacquelyn had an amazing sense of humor and made a lasting impression on all who knew her. She and her identical twin sister, Connie, were a real comedy team--always getting into mischief that only being identical twins could offer. She also had a passion for Atlanta Braves baseball and was often found watching her Braves. She loved her church and was a member of the Camp Creek Baptist Church in Union Mills.
A funeral service was held at Camp Creek Baptist Church, Union Mills. Burial followed in the church cemetery surrounded by her family and friends.
