Grover "Sonny" Scoggins, age 69

Grover "Sonny" Scoggins, age 69, of Cliffside, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020.

Sonny was born June 30, 1950 in Rutherford County to the late Samuel Jefferson Scoggins and Ruby May Walker Scoggins. Sonny served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years, Angela Splawn Scoggins and seventeen brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Dustin Scoggins (Angela Green) of Cliffside; three sisters, Vivian Payne, Lucy Melton and Wanda Lane (Junior); six grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
