Hazel Burgess, age 86

Hazel Burgess, age 86, of Mooresboro, NC, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013.

Born November 1, 1927 in Spartanburg County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Frank Keeter and Estelle Bradley Keeter. Hazel was a lifetime member of High Shoal Baptist Church where she was very active in the church’s hospitality ministry. She also enjoyed making ceramics and loved her family dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Burgess; two sons, Edward Burgess and Kenny Burgess; one sister and three brothers.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Buddy Burgess and wife, Crystal of Cliffside, Dawn Seay and husband, Terry of Rutherfordton and Melody Burgess of Boiling Springs, NC; five great-grandchildren, Sydney Burgess, Savannah Burgess, Brianna Baynard, Christina Baynard and Jessica Ellen Pruett and husband Michael.

Funeral services were conducted at the High Shoal Baptist Church with Reverend John Godfrey officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.
