Howard Samuel "Bill' Carroll, age 83 of Forest City passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016.

Bill was born August 21, 1932 in Polk County and was a son of the late Jesse Lee Ernest Carroll and Cora Fowler Carroll. He formerly attended Missionary Wesleyan Church, was a graduate of Cool Springs High School Class of 1952 and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill was a downtown fixture where he was the owner and operator of the Plaza Barber Shop from 1957 until 1997. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Campbell Carroll in 1993, and brothers Grady and Marvin Carroll.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy Davis Carroll, daughter, Teresa Carroll Revis and husband Chris of Forest City, a son, William Carroll of Ellenboro, and two sisters, Jettie Crook and Iva Jane Wall both of Forest City.

Funeral services were held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Charles Battle officiating. Interment followed in the Walls Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
