What started fourteen years ago with just eleven bikes has grown into two hundred and nine bikes in 2013. The 14th annual Toy Run for Needy Children held at the Rutherford County Moose Lodge 2422 and now joined by the Cleveland County Independent Bikers as a co-sponsor, packed the parking lot and the lodge house on Sunday, November 25th.

It was a good time for all who brought Christmas presents for the needy as an entrance fee after a successful bike run. In addition, the Puzzle Creek Outfitters added the toys they had gathered to the pile of toys on stage inside the lodge. Well over 400 people participated in this years event. Everyone working who provided the food for lunch as well as those who worked at the door all were volunteers. The sponsors felt that everything must go to the needy.

The turnout was greater than expected and is growing every year. The entire lodge inside was filled with people of good cheer and they spread their happy feelings to all. It is so rewarding to be among bikers who are often forgotten when it comes to doing good for their neighbors and those in need. This event is yet another indication of how bikers are the ones who always have a good heart and come together for a good community cause.

The bikers, all two hundred and nine, are to be congratulated for doing such good work. It is another indication of why you have to be glad that you live in Rutherford County.
