Irene Hester Sane, age 91

Irene Hester Sane, age 91, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015.

She was the daughter of the late Dolphus James Hester and the late Bessie Blanton Hester. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Robert Maurice Sane; her son, Robert Neal Sane, brothers, Roscoe Hester, Glenn Hester, sisters Gladys Lovelace, Ruth Lancaster Hamrick, Barbara Edgins and two infants sisters and infant brother.

She is survived by her children; Carole Sane Robbins and husband Bruce of Forest City, NC, David Sane and wife Anysea Haggard Sane of Daleville, Va, Steve Sane and wife Barbara Huskey Sane of Rutherfordton, NC, and Doug Sane and wife Barbara Benefield Sane of Denver, NC, 16 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one brother, James Marshall Hester of Crystal River, Florida; one half sister; Ann Edgins, Gothenberg, Nebraska.

Irene is a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church and former Sunday school teacher. She worked in textiles and as a seamstress. Loved to read, write poetry, paint, and play the harmonica. Most of all, loved God, loved being a mother and a home maker.

Funeral services were held at Mountain Creek Baptist Church with Rev. James Hester, Rev. Brian Robbins and Rev. Charles McClure officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
