Irene Wilson Highsmith, 84, formally of Hickory, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018.

Irene was born July 15, 1934 and was the daughter of the late John Henry Wilson and Mary Lou McDaniel Wilson. The widow of Ernest Highsmith, the sister of the late Earl Wilson, and the aunt of the late Dwayne Eplee.

She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Eisenberg and husband Neil of Brevard; brother, Robert "Bobby" Wilson and wife Pat of Fletcher; nephews, Michael Wilson of Fletcher, Darrell Eplee of Virginia; niece, Margie W. Hoell and husband Doug of Fletcher; great nephew, Dillon Eplee of Brevard.

Funeral Services were held at Joy Baptist Church in Conover. Burial followed at Catawba Memorial Park.
