Isothermal names outstanding students for Fall 2014

Isothermal Community College recently presented the Fall 2014 Learning College Student of the Semester Awards during two ceremonies in the Old Tryon Room of the Isothermal Library. 

Fall semester’s award winners were Kristen Toney, Health and Public Services-Early Childhood Education; Misty Jackson, Academic Development; Tony Ray Upton, Applied Sciences & Engineering Technology; Natasha Earney, Arts and Sciences; Hiren Ray, Business Sciences; Kate Wall, Health and Public Service-Practical Nursing Education; Brittany Owens, Health Sciences-Associate Degree Nursing; Brenda Black, Academic Development; Kayla Nicole Waters, Arts and Sciences; Kimberly Bridges, Business Sciences; Meagan Harrison, Career & College Readiness; and Kimberli Dobbins, Career & College Readiness.

The students, friends and families were welcomed to the ceremonies by Walter Dalton, president of Isothermal Community College. After a welcome, the awards were presented by Dr. Kim Gold, vice president of Academic and Student Services and Institutional Assessment, and Thad Harrill, vice president of Community and Workforce Education and Institutional Advancement.

Each student was nominated by one or several of their instructors. The nomination forms included a section of comments about the qualifications of each student.
