J.D. Haynes, age 91

J.D. Haynes, age 91, of Forest City, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

Born September 30, 1925 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Marvin Haynes and Carrie M. Elliott Haynes. J.D. was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He owned and operated JD Haynes Body Shop and worked for Bill Turner Chevrolet for many years. He also worked for Torrington Industries for several years and was a Baptist. J.D. was a muzzle loader enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, hunting and baking homemade bread.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jaydee Johnson and an infant son, Jackie D. Haynes.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving daughter and caregiver, Sandra K. Tesseneer and husband, Roger of Forest City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The graveside service was conducted at the Cool Springs Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Military honors were rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
