Jack Nelson Hoppes, 76, of Bostic-Sunshine Highway, Bostic, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Robert Hoppes and Ella Mae Jones Hoppes. Jack worked for many years in sales with Western Auto, Inc and was a member of Walls Baptist Church. He enjoyed fly fishing, gardening, gold mining, camping, and anything outdoors.

Survivors include his wife Bobbi Smith Hoppes of the home; a son, Chip Hoppes; daughters, Revonda Branch and Robin Townsend; a step-daughter, Angel Vance; and sisters Kay Peeler and Wonelle Childs. There are also ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Darrell Hoppes.

A memorial service was held in the Padgett & King Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
