Jacqueline Anne Davis Mooring of Rutherfordton, NC

Jacqueline Anne Davis Mooring of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away peacefully February 22, 2016. All her children were with her the day before to celebrate her 86th birthday.

Jackie was born in Mt. Olive, NC, the daughter of the late Alonzo James and Margaret Wheeler Davis. She was a graduate of Queens College in Charlotte, NC. She met her future husband, Stewart Lee Mooring, while on a beach trip with friends. They married in 1953. Jackie taught high school for a few years and then became a homemaker following the birth of her children. She dedicated her life to her love of her church, her friends, her family, and her two passions - gardening and bird watching.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Stewart Lee Mooring. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Lee Mooring and wife Susie, Frank Mooring and wife Donna, and daughter Margaret Graham and husband Reece; nine grandchildren; two brothers Jimmie Davis and William Davis and 7 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate the life of Jackie was held at Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Don Scofield officiating. Burial followed at the Rutherfordton City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church 252 N. Washington St. Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
