James Abner "Jimmy" Gibson

James Abner "Jimmy" Gibson of Rutherfordton passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Forest Bruce and Willie Mae Morgan Gibson. He was a retired electrician and a US Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Anderson Gibson of the home; daughter Angie Gibson Hooper (Matt) of Surfside Beach, SC; fifteen grandchildren; stepsons Richard Crook (Apryl) and Drew Anderson (Kathy) of Rutherfordton, Keith Crook (Barbara) of Ellenboro, Terry Crook (Charlene) of Gastonia, Jerry Crook (Toniah) of Greensboro, Locke Anderson of Charleston, SC; stepdaughters Karen Dobbins (Keith) of Bostic and Nancy Neal (Mark) of Charlotte; brother, Robert Gibson of Rutherfordton; sisters Jackie Burt of Forest City, Diana Brooks of Mooresboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Judy P. Gibson, a sister Marie Hardin and a brother Ned Gibson. No public services are planned.
