James Bostic Hardin, age 96

James Bostic Hardin, age 96 of Forest City passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015.

He was born the eldest of thirteen children on September 18, 1918 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Doctor Pressley Hardin and Vonnie Ophelia Allen Hardin. James was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and retired from the Town of Forest City where he was from many years the Caretaker of Cool Springs Cemetery. He also served in the United States Army during World War II.

James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Burnette Hardin, brothers and sisters, G. W. Hardin, Dorothy Catherine Bright, Sarah Elizabeth Walker, Pressley Hardin, Jr., Mary Frances Cole, Joe William Hardin, Charles Ray Hardin, Billy Sunday Hardin, Steve Dempsey Hardin, Robert Douglas Hardin, George Michael Hardin, and his son-in-law, Sam Walden.

James loved his Lord and Savior and his greatest joy came from sharing the gospel of Jesus with others.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda Hardin Walden of Chandler, NC, sister, Betty Hardin Lowery of Forest City, granddaughter, Kristen Williams and her husband Jay of Candler, and their children, Cole Williams and Karter Williams.

Funeral services were held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Kevin Rohm officiating. Interment followed in the Cool Springs Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
