James Cecil Bailey, 82, a resident of White Oak Manor, Rutherfordton, formerly of NC Highway 120, Mooresboro, passed away on Thursday, August 07, 2014. 

A native of Rutherford County, he was born on April 17, 1932, a son of the late Bessie Bailey. He was retired from Cone Mills Corporation - Cliffside Plant. He was also a member of High Shoals Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He loved to golf, work in his garden and loved animals.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his stepson, Steve Tate; one sister, Jessie Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Mahaffee Tate Bailey; one stepson, Phil Tate and wife Gay of Forest City; one step-daughter-in-law, Jennifer Tate of Topsail Island, NC; his nieces, Wanda Dobbins and husband James, Paulette Hutchins; his great nephew and niece, Robert Dobbins and Laura Toney; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; his two favorite companions, Buster and Zack.

A Celebration of Mr. Bailey’s Life was held at The A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Godfrey officiating. Burial followed in the High Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.
