James “Junior” Garrett, age 82

James “Junior” Garrett, age 82, of Cullowhee, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014.

Born September 2, 1932 in Anderson County, SC, he was a son of the late James Arthur Garrett, Sr. & Elvie Bryson Corn. James worked in construction as a finish carpenter most of his life&was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed gardening & fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Garrett.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Phyllis Hill & husband, Tim of Forest City & Tina Garrett of Ft. Myers, Florida & one son, Clarence “Artie” Garrett of Lakeland, Florida. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, James Oakley, Tara Tays Jon Hill, Kayla Hill, Chelsea Hill & 3 great-grandchildren, Taylor Oakley, Kaidence Davis & Emmitt Cramer.

A graveside service was conducted at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Lance Scarlett officiating.
