James West, 84, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013.
He was born in Cleveland County, NC to late Edgar Kingston West and Mittie Jane Lingerfelt West. He worked as a body shop technician before becoming disabled.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Jerleen Gosey West.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kathy Owensby of Rutherfordton, NC, Jackie Greene and husband Kenneth of Concord, NC, Garry West and wife Tammy of Forest City, NC, and Jeff West and wife Angel of Forest City, NC, grandchildren; Jonathan and Justin Owensby, Jenna Greene, Heather and Marisa West, great-grandchildren; Takoda and Zaiden Woods.
A private service will be held by the family at a later date.
Donations in James’s honor are requested for the Alzheimer’s Association of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
Crowe’s Mortuary is serving the family.
