Jane Shytle Talley, age 75 passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 and Frank James Talley, Jr, age 79 passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018. Together in life, now together in Heaven for all eternity.

Jane was born May 25, 1942 in Rutherford County, a daughter of the late Doc and Heddie Shytle. Jane was a registered nurse and received her nursing degree from Gardner-Webb University, and worked for many years as the Director of Nursing at the Rutherford Nursing Center in Rutherfordton, and currently at Willow Ridge Nursing Center. Jane was a devoted nurse and caregiver.

Frank was born November 27, 1938 in the Jackson Heights Neighborhood of Queens, New York and was a son of the late Frank James Talley, Sr and Mary Talley. He served in the United States Army in Germany as a tank driver following World War II. Frank began his education at Isothermal Community College and then attended Gardner-Webb University, Appalachian State University and received his Masters Degree in Speech and Hearing from Western Carolina University. He worked as a Speech Pathologist for many years and was a gifted author. Frank published poetry as well authored three books, which were published.

Jane and Frank were both faithful members of the Florence Baptist Church having sung in the Sanctuary Choir. Frank also enjoyed the Handbell Choir and many other musical activities in the church. Jane and Frank were married 57 years. They were preceded in death by their son, David Brian Talley who passed away in 2015.

Survivors include two sons, Frank James Talley, III of Forest City, Eric William Talley and his wife Katherine Boone Talley of Ellenboro, and daughter, Christina Talley-Orr and her husband Michael Orr of Versailles, Kentucky. There are also six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of Frank and Jane and will be announced by the family. Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
