Jeanette Gunter Huntley, age 88

Jeanette Gunter Huntley, age 88 of, Bostic, & a former longtime resident of Forest City passed away Monday, September 8, 2014. She was born December 11, 1925 in Jackson County, NC and a daughter of the late Sam and Emma Stephens Gunter.  Jeanette was a retired beautician and operated her own shop in Forest City for many years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Forest City and preceded in death by her husband, Jasper “Jake” Huntley, brothers, Robert and Jack Gunter and a sister, Blanche Blackwell.Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews.Funeral services were held at The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend J. Anthony Spencer officiating.  Interment followed in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Memorial may be made to First Baptist Church, 211 West Main Street, Forest City, NC 28043.
