Jeanne Hames Cash, age 88

Jeanne Hames Cash, age 88 of Bostic, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017.

She was born August 8, 1929 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Gilbert Holland Hames, Sr., and Margaret Kiser Hames. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and worked for many years as the bookkeeper for Winn-Dixie Grocery Store. Jeanne was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Bostic where for many years she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed gardening, reading and was a lover of animals. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron C. Cash, Jr. and a grandson.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Cash Harton of Bostic, a son, Theron C. Cash, III and wife Lois of North Port, Florida, a brother, Gilbert Holland Hames, Jr and wife Doris of Charleston, SC, sisters, Betty Hames Harrill of Forest City and Billie Hames Robinette of Jasper, Georgia. There are also three grandchildren, as well as three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Jessica Godfrey officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
