Jerry “Bubba” Doty, age 54, of Ellenboro, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014.

Born October 15, 1959 in Cleveland County, he was a son of J.T. Doty & the late Pat Biggerstaff Doty. He was a graduate of East High School, class of 1977 & worked as a truck driver most of his life. Jerry was a faithful member of the Restoration Church & enjoyed slot car racing, buying & working on old lawn mowers & collecting eagle figurines.

Besides his father, survivors include his wife, Dawn McLamb Doty; 3 daughters, Shea Doty of Forest City, Ashley Jenkins of West Virginia & Makenzie McLamb of the home; 4 sons, Justin Doty of Forest City, Cody McLamb, Tyler McLamb & Blake McLamb all of the home; 2 brothers, Peyton Doty & wife, Janie of Ellenboro & Michael Doty & wife, Renda of Bostic. He is also survived by a niece, Lisa Frazier & husband, Randy; nephew, Chad Doty & great nephew, Peyton Frazier.

Funeral services were conducted at the Restoration Church with Reverend Jerry Hames, Reverend Kyle Fisher & Reverend David Henderson officiating.  

Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC  28043.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
