Jerry Gideon Jones, age 64

Jerry Gideon Jones, age 64, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019.

Jerry was born on March 9, 1955 in Rutherford County. He was a 1974 graduate of RS Central High School. Jerry was the son of the late Gideon Price Jones of Spindale, NC.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Selma Bright Jones of Spindale, his wife of 38 years Debra Matheny Jones and daughter Alison Jones of the home, son Nicholas (Nick) Jones and wife Maggie Mason Jones of Forest City, two grandsons that he loved with all his heart, one sister, Cynthia Jones of Spindale, and brother-in-law Wayne Matheny and Wife Tammy Head Matheny of Forest City.

Jerry worked with several manufacturers in Rutherford County, last employed by Mastercraft Corp in Spindale, for over 30 years. After working with Mastercraft, Jerry enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. Going to Karate and Soccer games. Jerry was always proud of their many activities and what they accomplished.

Jerry enjoyed going to annual car shows, drag racing, motor sports, and the Atlanta Braves.

Funeral Service was held at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Forest City. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery.
