Jerry Hill, age 74 of Forest City passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015.

Jerry was born June 13, 1941 in Forest City and was a son of the late Hal Walker Hill and Helen Phillips Hill. He was retired from PPG, Shelby Plant where he worked for thirty years as an electrician. A graduate of R-S Central High School in the class of 1959, Jerry went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force in Strategic Air Command. He held and Associate Degree in Business Management, Industrial Management, and Safety Management all from Cleveland Technical College.

Jerry attended Florence Baptist Church, was a former Boy Scout Leader, worked with Forest City Little League and was a gifted woodworker. He was preceded in death by his Aunt and Uncle, Ailene and Charles Deviney who reared him as well as his beloved daughter, Robin Hill Graham in 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Lavonda Padgett Hill, a son, Patrick Charles Hill and wife Kristina of Mooresville, two daughters, Cindy Hill Stacey of Spartanburg, Kimberly Hill Francis and Husband Tim of Forest City, a half brother, Gary Eugene Hill of Maine, a half sister, Beverly Hill Cobb of Cherryville, NC, ten grandchildren, Jonathan Cline, Lauren and Leslie McSwain, Mindy Francis, T.J. Francis, Joshua and Caleb Francis, Blake Hill, Kyleigh and Reid Hill, great grandchildren, Nathan Cline, Marley Cline, Braden and Camden Moss, Hayden and Kaitlyn Francis, Kayla Beheler, Christian Putnam, Marley Cline, and great-great grandchild, Talon Beheler.

Funeral services were held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt and Reverend Todd Gossett officiating. Interment followed in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
