Jimmy "J.R." Reynolds, age 76

Jimmy "J.R." Reynolds, age 76, of Caroleen, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 11, 2016.

Born on Tuesday, July 2, 1940 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Lawson Reynolds and Edna Wilson Reynolds. He worked for Cone Mills for forty years before retirement and was a member of Sisk Memorial Missionary Methodist Church. Jimmy enjoyed going to flea markets, watching Duke basketball and was an avid golfer. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy "Bud" Reynolds and Leroy Reynolds and two sisters, Dot Henson and Betty Reid.

Surviving is his loving wife of fifty-five years, Violet Lovelace Reynolds; two sons, Jimmy "Hacksaw" Reynolds and wife, Teresa of Forest City and Robert "R.J." Reynolds and wife, Patti of Ellenboro; one daughter, Lisa Reynolds Vactor and husband, Dr. Michael Vactor of Mars, Pennsylvania; brother, Gary "Gab" Reynolds and wife, Darlene of Forest City. Four grandchildren also survive him.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Frank Lewis and Reverend Lamar Hewitt officiating. Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Dean Cox officiating the committal.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
