Jimmy Rumfelt, Sr. age 85, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
Jimmy was born Friday, November 15, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Horton Rumfelt and Lillie Williams Rumfelt.
He served honorably in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons; brothers, Clyde, Charlie, Henry and Norris Rumfelt; three sisters, Pearl Rumfelt, Dot Ensley and Virginia Terry.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty-three years, Mittie Campbell Rumfelt; children, Norma McNeely (Robin) of Sunshine, Jimmy "Buddy" Rumfelt, Jr. (Rita) of Cliffside and Shela Trotter (Michael) of Forest City; sister, Peggy Harris of Forest City; twenty-two grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren (with one on the way), one great-great grandchild and his beloved pet.
The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
