Joe A. Smith, age 84

Joe A. Smith, age 84, of Bostic, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017.

He was a native of Rutherford County & the son of the late Charlie Smith & the late Lottie Bivens Smith. Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Grover, Fred & Bud Smith & four sisters; Ozelle Ensley, Oler Mae Murray, Annie Bell Swicegood & Elizabeth Cartee.

He is survived by his wife: Marie Hall Smith. One daughter: Jolene Smith Hefner & husband Bill of Bostic. One son: Keith Smith & two grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Cy Miller officiating. Interment was held be at Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Mills.
