Joe Letterman, age 78

Joe Letterman, age 78, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Joe was son of the late Milton & Hattie Bolick Letterman and native of Mitchell County. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked in construction for Flour Construction Company. Joe was known to the grandkids as "Poppy".

He is survived by his wife; Elizabeth "Libby" Letterman. Step-daughter: Donna Johnson and her husband Jay. Three Sisters: Shirley Buckner, Ailean Blevins, Margie Wilson. Four grandchildren.

The Funeral service was held at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Rev Roy Perry officiated. Interment was held at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, NC with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
