John Foy Humphries, age 91

John Foy Humphries, age 91 of Forest City passed away Monday, November 23, 2015.

Foy was born April 17, 1924 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Alonzo and Emma Parrish Humphries. He attended Forest Lake Baptist Church, was graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and was a Master Mason and member of Forest City Masonic Lodge, No. 381, AF & AM where he was Past Master and was also a Shriner. Foy retired from Daniel Construction where he was Superintendent of Pipe Fitters. He was preceded in death brothers and sisters, Shuford Humphries who died in World War II, Wilbur Humphries, Ruby Crowder, Louise Street Womack and Macie Humphries Bailey.

He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews in North and South Carolina, Kentucky, Maryland, and Michigan.

The funeral was held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Wayne Toney and Reverend Terry White officiating. Interment followed in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
