John W. Smith, 84, 2000 Poplar Avenue, Cookeville, Tennessee, formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away at his residence on Saturday, January 9, 2010. He was the son of the late Donald and Mary Smith. He loved fishing and helping out his neighbors. He was a very devout Christian.
Survivors include one daughter, Eliza Jean Smith, Boone, North Carolina; one son, Christopher Smith, Cookeville, Tennessee; and one grandchild, William Smith, Boone, North Carolina, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 from the David E. Doonsburg Memorial Chapel of Doonsburg~Wallace~Brandon Funeral Home.
Eulogies were delivered by family and friends.
Graveside service and inurnment followed in Chapman Cemetery.
Doonsburg~Wallace~Brandon Funeral Home and Cremations Services was in charge of the arrangements.
