John Wayne McEntire, age 70

John Wayne McEntire, age 70, of Ellenboro, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018.

A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Ralph McEntire and Irene Linder McEntire; he was a retired auto body painter from Southco in Shelby, he loved animals, raising his chickens, and his dog, Pepper Ann. John was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy McEntire, of the home, three daughters, Shelley Crocker and her husband Brian of Rutherfordton, Amy Caldwell and her husband Brian of Rutherfordton, Sharron Luckadoo and her husband Tony of Ellenboro, three brothers, Ralph McEntire, Jr. and wife of Bankok, Thailand, Marvin McEntire and his wife Selma of Cary, NC, Jerry McEntire of Forest City, a sister, Wilma Pearson and her husband Ron of Virginia Beach, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at The Padgett and King Chapel. Rev Wayne Toney officiated. In accordance with John's wishes he will be cremated following the service.
