Johnny M. Morgan, age 69

Johnny M. Morgan, age 69 of Ellenboro, NC, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015. 

He was born March 2, 1945 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Roy B. and Viola Downey Morgan.  Johnny was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bostic and retired from Broyhill Furniture Industries.  He loved music and was a talented guitar player and teacher having taught guitar lessons for many years.  He had also played in several bands over the years and was an avid gardener.  Johnny was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Morgan Hamrick in 2014 and brothers, Troy Morgan and Bobby Morgan.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Sims Morgan, a daughter, Kim Morgan Mull and husband Sandy of Forest City, brother, Jim Morgan of Rutherfordton, a sister, Nancy Lovelace and husband Chuck of Ellenboro and son-in-law, Jeff Hamrick of Ellenboro.  There are also four grandchildren, Jennifer-Hamrick Walker, Jovi Hamrick, Shane Mull and Gracie Mull.

A graveside service was held at the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Bostic with Reverend William Swink and Reverend Robbie Hensley officiating.
