Jonah Roger Tate, age 76

Jonah Roger Tate, age 76, of Mooresboro, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017.

Born October 25, 1940 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Jarvis Tate and Ruth Powell Tate. He was a Unites States Army veteran. The "Old Man of the Sea" loved to fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Tate, Dorman Tate; and one sister, Glady Jean Tate.

Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Ruby Tate; one daughter, Dawn Davis (Terry); four sons, Travis Tate (Crystal), Darren Keith Moore (Riki), Christopher Todd Moore (Shannon), Kevin Paul Moore; two sisters, Gail Blackburn, Orlene Morgan (Tim); and two brothers, Dean Tate (Bobby Jo) and Ronnie Tate (Brenda). He is also survived ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Services will be private and at a later date.
