Jones Stroud, age 89 of Forest City

Jones Stroud, age 89 of Forest City, North Carolina and former resident of Davie County died Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Hospice House of Forest City. She was a native of Davie County, NC and a daughter of the late Alexander Lillington (Alex) Jones and Bertha Foster Jones.  She was retired from Baker Furniture Company working in both the Sanding Department and Inspections. She was also a member of Fork Baptist Church in Mocksville.  Magdalene was preceded in death by her infant daughter and son as well as a son, Tommy Lee Stroud in 1968.

Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Stroud Harris and husband Tony of Forest City, NC, two grandchildren, Meghan Harris Bryant and husband Mark, Jordan Ashley Harris and friend Oscar Antone, Jr. as well as three great-grandchildren, Lance Anthony Bryant, Ashden Bailey Lindsay Harris and Aniya Bralee Harris.

Funeral services were held at Fork Baptist Church, in Mocksville, NC. The Reverend Marvin Green and Mark Ridenhour, M Div. officiated.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
